Chosen: Where The Wild Things Are & Five By Five

It’s the episode where Buffy and Riley have lots and lots of sex and that’s just about it. Followed by the first 10/10 Angel episode featuring Faith.

WWF Fully Loaded PPV, July 26th, 1998

7644456831079950035On this edition of the Triple ThreatCast it’s PPV time and we react to the Fully Loaded PPV from 1998. The head to head battle between Mel and Marissa for PPV prediction superiority gets personal and it’s all Dan Severn’s fault. Also, Marissa almost does the unthinkable in the Top 3 Superstars segment, Mel kinda maybe sorta promises a riot after the Undertaker/Triple H match at the Super Show Down next month in Melbourne, and Kevin has to explain that it was really an act of chivalry that he was the one to introduce the bikini contest segment. All that plus emails on episode 21 of the Triple ThreatCast!

Monday Night Raw #269, July 20th, 1998

VinceOn this edition of the Triple ThreatCast, lots of things going on this go home edition of Raw as we head toward Fully Loaded. Mel desperately hopes that D-Lo shows up at the Super Show-Down in Melbourne next month to finally get his push but hopefully the Godfather doesn’t show up and steal her sign, Marissa is having a hard time with the dichotomy of being totally disgusted by Val Venis yet being impressed by his sudden act of chivalry, and Kevin learns a new Australian double entendre. All that and so much more, including emails, on episode 20 of the Triple ThreatCast!

Monday Night Raw #268, July 13th, 1998

hbkOn this edition of the Triple ThreatCast, Mel is nearing a Brawl For All strike as her patience is wearing thin, Marissa simply refuses to accept the results of the WWF World Tag Team Championship matches on this episode, and Kevin confesses that, while Billy Gunn may be Mr. Buns, there is no bigger ass than himself. All that, plus emails, stunners and chokeslams for everyone, and total carnage on episode 19 of the Triple ThreatCast!

The-undertaker-dressed-as-kane

On this edition of the Triple ThreatCast, they say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery and we have several impressions to discuss, each getting very different reactions…The Undertaker does his best Kane impression and follows that up with a raccoon impression, and before that, in 5 minutes, D-X completely destroys the progress that the Civil Rights Movement gave us in the previous 40 years… Also, Kevin gets confused by all the car talk from Sable and Jacqueline, Marissa does NOT want Ronda Rousey to be a champion already and Mel just really dislikes advocates in general (so, good news, Tennessee Lee! It’s not you, it’s Mel!). All that plus emails and plenty of other shenanigans on Episode 18 of the Triple ThreatCast!

Monday Night Raw #266, June 29th, 1998

brawlforall-1-1495566659-800

It’s rassle-boxing time! We move from one glorious idea, the Hell in the Cell match (the second iteration we discussed last week), to one terrible idea, the Brawl for All. We have two of those matches on this show and the crowd went…what’s the opposite of wild? I suppose they went for more snacks or to the restroom during this. We also have a big rematch of last night’s PPV main event, Val Venis decides to annoy a member of the arena audience as much as he annoys Mel and Marissa, and Kevin Kelly has a couple of more reasons added to why he has his very own filing cabinet in HR. All that and so much more, including your emails, on Episode 17 of the Triple ThreatCast!

WWF King of the Ring PPV, June 28th, 1998

kotr98

It’s time for the King of the Ring PPV which means it’s time for a Triple ThreatCast supershow! Superfan Josh, from the Tales from Godric’s Hollow podcast, joins Kevin, Marissa and Mel to discuss this pivotal PPV of the early Attitude Era. The gang discusses the King of the Ring tourney, now down to Ken Shamrock, Dan Severn, Jeff Jarrett and The Rock. Who will take home the prestigious title this year? Mel decides Paul Bearer should join Tennessee Lee on her list of managers she doesn’t care for. Marissa lets the expletives fly when the main event result comes in. Josh discusses watching this PPV live and Kevin recalls having to go to something called a video store and rent it on something he called a VHS. He’s probably making these words up. Will Marissa end Mel’s PPV predictions streak? Catch all that and much more on episode 16, a very special edition of the Triple ThreatCast!

Monday Night Raw #265, June 22nd, 1998

KotR1998-1On this episode of the Triple ThreatCast, we are 6 days away from the King of the Ring PPV as we try to narrow down the final four competitors for that illustrious crown. We look back at the loss of some key figures this past week, one as a prominent figure from WWF history and the other as a figure we see during our Attitude Era watch through. Marissa has adapted to the bizarre musings of Al Snow while Mel still doesn’t care for him, the team likens Kane’s habit of tilting his head back to “speak” to a Pez Dispenser, The Undertaker makes a house call, and Steve Austin decides to show up for the last 10 minutes of the show. All that and emails on episode 15 of the Triple ThreatCast!
