Monday Night Raw #275, September 5th, 1998

TakerandKaneOn this edition of the Triple ThreatCast Marissa took the “go home” episode of Raw we covered a few weeks ago literally and got herself an actual home. Also, everybody is sick this week but we gut it out for our fans, like Triple H with a torn pectoral muscle…exactly like that. On this Raw the Brothers of Destruction are apparently bored at not being booked and take matters into their own hands, D-Lo leaves the Rock to take a beating, and Tiger Ali Singh’s servant, Babu, lets his love for sardines start affecting his work. All that and more, plus a severe lack of emails make this a more snack-sized episode 28 of the Triple ThreatCast!

Real Me & Are You Now Or Have You Ever Been?

iconsmallerThe sudden appearance of Dawn has shooken Marissa. Where did she come from? Why is everyone acting like she has always been there? Has she always been there? Has Marissa just failed to notice her? I mean, according to Marissa you CAN’T just retcon a little sister in the mix.

Meanwhile L.A. is becoming a lot more interesting to Marissa as she begins to enjoy Angel. We took a nice walk down memory lane joining Angel in the 1950s, a time where he shunned human contact but had his pesky soul tugging him towards the light.

WWF SummerSlam, August, 30th, 1998

SummerSlam98

On this PPV edition of the Triple ThreatCast, Kevin returns to the show but appears to have left his jokes in Vegas. We’ve got a huge ladder match (okay, so the ladders are pretty normal sized, but the match is pretty big) for the WWF Intercontinental Championship between Triple H and The Rock, Stone Cold defends the WWF Championship against the Dead Man and Mankind even tries his hand at defending the WWF World Tag Team Titles against the New Age Outlaws all by his lonely self. But the biggest battle of them all is over who will win the TTC predictions title! Much like Edge, Mel is undefeated (though, unlike Edge, she hasn’t broken anybody’s neck…yet). Can Marissa finally break through and win her first championship? All that, much more, plus email, on episode 27 of the Triple ThreatCast!

Chosen: Buffy Vs Dracula / Judgement

Here we are! Marissa has arrived at Season 5 of Buffy and while she enjoyed this episode I think she was left confused (I know she was) and frustrated.

On the Angel front, she is appeased by the mere fact it is not season 1.

Monday Night Raw #274, August 24th, 1998

cahootsOn this edition of the Triple ThreatCast, not even Paul Bearer can come between The Undertaker and Kane and not even the absence of Kevin can keep the Triple ThreatCast juices from flowing, as friend of the show Josh steps in to join Mel and Marissa on the go home Raw before SummerSlam. Also on this episode, are Shamrock and Blackman 6-packing in their Ab Bromance? Mankind challenges Kane to a Hell in the Cell match, because why not just run this match type into the ground? The Rock rudely invites Mark Henry to get a little fresh with Chyna. All that plus emails as we make our penultimate stop on the Highway to Hell (also known as SummerSlam)!

Monday Night Raw #273, August 17th, 1998

dontlookatmeOn this edition of the Triple ThreatCast we are less than two weeks from SummerSlam and the big matchup between Stone Cold and The Undertaker (the duo named “Cold Death” by Marissa). There was one segment in this show that nearly drove Mel and Marissa to the breaking point but it was not mentioned too much in this podcast and it will not be mentioned at all here…but, Austin will have to be on his toes just in case the Undertaker is in cahoots with his own brother. Val Venis must endure a gauntlet match against Kaientai if he wants a shot in the ring against Mr. Yamaguchi. Will Val taste defeat or will he be able to lick all five? So many strange things are afoot, plus we’ve got emails and Mel gives out a prize, on episode 25 of the Triple ThreatCast.

Monday Night Raw #272, August 10th, 1998

DXSplitOn this edition of the Triple ThreatCast are we going to see a D-X split? We’ve got a four-corners match for the WWF World Tag Team titles. Can Undertaker and Steve Austin retain as we inch closer to their SummerSlam throw-down? Vader votes no on hoe, then changes his mind, but thanks to Bart Gunn is left hoeless. Also, Mel gives us the low down on her first WWE live experience, as she attended yesterday’s Super Showdown in Melbourne, Australia, Marissa comes up with a solid name for the Undertaker/Austin tag team, and Kevin laments his lack of coolness. All that, plus emails, on episode 24 of the Triple ThreatCast!

Monday Night Raw #271, August 3rd, 1998

RockShookOn this edition of the Triple ThreatCast, we continue our arduous journey toward SummerSlam. Austin & Undertaker defend their tag titles against The Rock & Owen Hart in the main event. Are Austin & Undertaker bros? A key clue as to the answer to this was completely missed during the recording session. Since it’s supposed to be bros before hoes, and the Godfather was on the show before the main event, does this mean that they aren’t bros? Or, since they were in the ring for a promo before the Godfather’s match, does that mean that they are bros? This is all very confusing. Also, Marissa says she should be Triple H because she’s got the hair, Mel thinks she looks like Chyna and Kevin is Paul Bearer’s twin at this point. All that and a whole lot more, plus emails, on episode 23 of the Triple ThreatCast!

Chosen: New Moon Rising & Sanctary

Marissa lives by the theory that if you make the same prediction several times it will eventually come true – Welcome back Oz! Time for you to get a proper send off… unless we’re going to see you again.
